This is probably an extremely naive question: I've used my Panny DMR-E80H for all of my recording and susequent dubbing to disk, and my Nero software on my PC with a Lite-on DVD writer simply to make copies of DVDs. Is there somesofware that would allow me to copy a DVD+R disk and convert it to a DVD-R encoded disk?

Simply use Nero to make a disc copy, using -R media for the burn. Be sure to use the option to copy the disc to hard drive before burning.

Yeah, what rdgrimes said. Once you copy your dvd to the pc, it doesn't matter what format disc you use to dub a copy to-as long as your pc burner handles both, you've got no worries.

The documentation with the OEM Nero is pretty sparse so your advice is most welcome and very straightforward. As a movie collector, I am occasionally tempted to buy a DVD+R, but these have not played on my Panny DVDR (oddly, my old Panny DVD-R32 player [2 or 3 years older than the DVDR] does play them, but is located many feet away on another floor in the house and has to be moved to a chair beside the DVDR to copy to the DVDR through the composite connections of the two (with, I assume, some loss).

Thanks.
