I received an 8"x3" sample today of the screen material that they are selling. I attached it in front of my BOC screen. I also attached the Wilsonart DW354-60. Tested some white and flesh colors. The white is brighter than the DW.
Two sides are white with different finish. I can see some slight glare but not really far from DW. The other side does have tons of glare. On the other side I tested, I didn't notice much glare from where I was standing, about 15'.
Does anyone using a Proscreen? Their website is at http://www.buildyourownprojectionscreen.com/
Also, can anyone please describe to me how hotspotting looks like?
Thanks.
Sorry I have no experience with them but I have the same projector and I use a da-lite
2.8 lightgain 82x82 This is the best thing I have done for my projector. I also like that it is washable since we have a toddler. Rich

I've read on our forum that a CRT projector will perform its best if projected on a screen with gain not exceeding 1.3. Yours is 2.8,, how does it look like? I'm interested in the results. Maybe you can take a screenshot.
I chose this because my projector is in my living room where light is less than optimal.
I think it looks good but i dont have my machine set up as well as yours (dont have the spring trick yet) Pm me a email address and I will send you a couple of pics as I dont have a way to scale them down. Rich
You have an Email and a full pm box:D
I did not realize how bad my screenshot images are until now
the projector does better. Rich

I was waiting until I sprayed the entire screen to start a thread but I have discovered a paint that can be applied to boc that is exeptionally bright white and looks amazing with the sample that I made. It is the new ceramic based paint sold be home hardware.
I bought a gallon of brilliant white in matt sheen then had is tinted with pure white titanium oxide. to spray it on the boc, I thinned it about ten percent with water an sprayed about four coats. It left a brilliant white surface that is very durable with good gain but no color shift. the screen is quite invisible which is what the perfect screen should be.
I will be posting pics and proceedure once I am finished.
I bought this material about a month ago to use it on a DIY screen that I had.
The material is virtually un-stretchable so I could not get rid of ripples.
I contacted the seller and he said to use a back support and glue it for screen over 120" (mine was 120" diag).
There is also another huge flaw, the screen also have noticeable uneven wave pattern vissible at an angle. The reflection in this material is not even enough to use for projection. The only good thing is that this material is brighter than my Carada BW screen. I got my half my money refunded, the other half was shipping. I still have this material in my garage (fit up to 120") and someone is free to pick it up for free if you leave in my area.
This wasted a lot of my time (installed it twice) and eventually ordered a Carada Criterion BW 118" and never looked back.

I dealt with chris campo and purchased screen material from proscreens. When it arrived, the cap was not on one end of the shipping tube, the screen was mashed in and damaged the screen had numerous imperfections that i can best describe as bubbles throughout.
I emailed proscreens on saturday stating it would be extremely difficult for me to create a screen the size and dimensions of what i paid for with these irregularities and damages. I would like to know what your company will do to make this transaction good.
Within 2 hours i had a reply from chris campo. The material that i had ordered was out of stock so first thing monday morning they would ship a superior product to replace the damaged material no charge.
I had my new screen wednesday.
