is anyone EQ'ing their center? i have an Aerial CC3B symmetrically placed in a rectangular room. I know that bass blooms annoyingly in this location. I've ran tests with a Velodyne SMS-1 thru the center and there are large peaks in the 100-120hz region. This is why i xover at 100hz in my Anthem. The Velo only goes up to 200hz and i think about how beneficial it may be to flatten the response from say 500hz down to the sub's low pass point. Male voices in particular will benefit so it doesn't sound chesty, nasal, or wimpy.

i have a BFD sitting around and i just might experiment with Room EQ Wizard.

Any thoughts?

Why not use the bfd its clean sounding enough, it should make a difference ?
Most people eq via the av amp anyway.

I use the internal eqs but am considering using a peq ultra q as well, maybe try the bfd also.

yes, I EQ my centre. I had my centre just off the floor when I first put my HT together and it sounded good (no EQ needed). I since changed speakers and moved the centre above the screen. I have a fairly low ceiling at about 7.5'. The centre sounded nasally, chesty etc. I had a spare Rane PE15 (Parametric EQ) and that helped but it had a high noise floor (hear hissing). I didn't have a BFD anymore which apparently isn't so good for fidelity. I replaced the Rane with a current model Berhinger PEQ (analog knobs) and that did the trick. I bought an SMS-1that replaced a high quality Symetrix PEQ. I should put the higher quality Symetrix in place of the Berhinger PEQ but I am just too lazy (pulling out the sweep CDs and spl meter).
