Not sure if this is the right section to post this in...

I'm looking to upgrade to a new power conditioner for my HT.

Of these 2 power conditioners, which do you think is the better choice?

I can get the APC J10 for $399 (MSRP $549)

I can get the Monster HTS 3660 for $344 (MSRP $499)

I just got the APC J15BLK (Black instead of silver). MSRP is $649 but can be found for a little over $350 -- less than the $399 price you mentioned for hte J10.

Anyway, so far I love my J15 and recommend it.

I ended up going with the new Panamax 5400-PM. I was told that between APC and Monster, Panamax is a bit better than the other two. Cost was $699, so it wasn't cheap, but it definitely made a HUGE difference in the picture and sound department.

I'm curious to know why they told you that Panamax was better than APC. I already have an APC H15 and was thinking of adding another unit.

I'm going to echo Ace in asking for the justification for their reasoning. Our office IT Manager, who has a double degree in computer science and electrical engineering, feels that APC units spec out the best.

I chose an APC H15 and have had it for over 1 year now. It works great. I decided against the Monster products because they do not protect against "Brownouts" unless you invest in the top of the line Monster whick was over $1K .

Based on my research I did when I purchased my unit, I found that low voltage (brownouts) was just as dangerous for electronic equipment as overvoltage. So I narrowed my choice down to Panamax and APC H15. I chose the APC over the Panamax only because the price was much more affordable for comparable models. I do not remember the model number of the Panamax but I do remember it was the 2nd or 3rd up in their line.

I suggest to go with either line and you will be happy. I do know you can get the APC products at a better price though.
