Anybody treat the doors in their room just like they are another wall? With linacoustic or OC703 or something like that, and fabric and everything? Are there any particular issues to consider when doing this?

Reason I'm asking, is because in my theater, the two side walls are about 26 feet long, and the my wall to the right of the screen has no doors whatsoever, but the wall to the left of my screen has 3 doors. I'm going to be treating the entire wall to the right, and the left wall is going to have these 3 large spaces with zero treatment.

I guess one of the main considerations would be, are any of the walls a first reflection point? (haven't checked that yet). One of mine could easily be a first reflection point, and I'm thinking about treating it and having fabric over it and everything, but I'm thinking it will look really silly, or my wife will just think it's dumb, lol.

Maybe I should just treat the walls first and see if it's necessary to worry about the doors.

It's definitely been done. for example (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=855863).

As I recall one of the complications is that the treatments "stick out" from the face of the wall and the door. So if your door opens inward and the design has panels/trim running all the way to the very edge of both the wall and the door, when you try to open the door the surfaces will jam into each other. Here's one approach (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=7058061#post7058061); I think he (or someone else?) also implemented a hinged piece of molding that moves out of the way as the door opens, but I can't find it.

I think SandmandX did that... look on this page of his build thread...

Yup, that's the one I was thinking of, thanks.

Big (Jeff) did it as well.

I'm planning on as well. but am a long time away from implementing that plan.

I did mine with a treatment though not strictly only acoustic it is also to go with the styling of the theater but also helps with sound treatment of the room

I did. It was easy to do on a solid core door.
