If so, run a firewire cable from your digital Tico box and save your HD programs to your computer in their original HD format. Play them back from there. - or - Edit the HD programs into parts, if necessary, to fit onto standard DVD media (single or double layer) and burn them. They will playback in HD using an HD-DVD player without difficulty. (There is a thread somewhere which gives blow by blow instructions. Let me know if you can't find it.) bicker1 01-18-08, 06:39 AM Neither the TiVo S3 nor the TiVo HD have firewire output. jjeff 01-18-08, 06:47 AM Does anyone manufacture a DVD recorder that will record HD content from a Tivo Series 3? They will all record the HD content, but will only be in 480 per the DVD standard. To get better you would need to go to a computer, as Bfdtv had described in the sticky "Attn Newbies: You Cannot Record in Hi-Def Resolution on Current DVD Recorders " In that thread he describes how a person can record HD to a standard DVD. The catch is the 40-50 min. time limitation, along with the fact that the DVD's would need to be played back on a HD DVD player. |
