Ok just had my Panasonic 50PZ700U delivered and I purchasing the Onkyo 908 system as I write this.
I need to know what cables I need for my setup as I am a complete novice to HDMI and stuff.
Systems:
Panasonic 50"
Onkyo 908 HTIB
Wii
PS2
HD Cable box
Panasonic Blu-Ray player (the new one coming out with TrueHD)
Thats pretty much it. What do I need to buy to get this all setup? Thanks

If you want everything to run through the rx'r, this is what you will need.
Onkyo 908 HTIB hdmi -> Panasonic 50"
Wii component -> Onkyo 908 HTIB
PS2 component -> Onkyo 908 HTIB
HD Cable box component or hdmi -> Onkyo 908 HTIB
Panasonic Blu-Ray player hdmi -> Onkyo 908 HTIB
So total would be 3 hdmi cables. You would need to order component cables for your PS2 and Wii. I recall they came with composite cables.

I was on monprice but they have a bunch of different cables. Which do you guys suggest?
For HDMI, I've had excellent results with the BlueJeansCable 24 awg silver coated cable for a long run. It's more flexible than the 22 AWG from monoprice. For short runs (6 feet or less) then the cheap 28 awg cables from monoprice will serve just fine.
You might want to measure where things go, measure the distance, add a foot, and multiply by 1.2 to get a good cable length. Having 6 feet cables for a box that's right beside your receiver just clutters things up; a 2-3 ft cable is better for that. For the HTIB->display, you might need to go 10, 12, 15 or even more, depending on location.
Let's say you need two of these: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024007&p_id=3951&seq=1&format=2
That's for blu-ray and cable box (assuming cable box has HDMI out).
And one of these: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024008&p_id=3993&seq=1&format=2
That's for HTIB -> TV.
You need one of these for your Wii: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10830&cs_id=1083001&p_id=3490&seq=1&format=2
For the PS/2 you probably want one of these: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10830&cs_id=1083003&p_id=4009&seq=1&format=2
You might want to throw in one or two of these, if the game consoles have surround sound (I don't know about the Wii or PS/2): http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10229&cs_id=1022901&p_id=1419&seq=1&format=2
Total with shipping and tax: probably less than $50.

Wow thanks alot for the help.
Just one more question. Why do I need such a long cable for the HTIB? I thought the receiver should be up front with the TV?
