Hello everyone,

I bought this unit new, just got it yesterday and hooked it up today. I have it hooked up to a Brand new 32" lcd tv, the reception was fantastic till i hooked this unit up. I have the cable coming into this unit and the HDMI going to the television set. Went through the setup, got all the channels, but the reception is a little fuzzy. What can i do to get it back to crystal clear like before?

Thanks,
Sellncars

Is the reception fuzzy watching through the EZ tuner outputting to your TV via HDMI, or is the reception fuzzy watching TV on your TV's built in tuner, with the rf going through your DVR?
If it is the later what is the reception like if the DVDR is off? If it gets better, it sounds like you have the RF modulator set to on in the Panny. I would suggest, in your case to turn it off in the setup.
If the reception is fuzzy watching TV through the HDMI of your TV, remember anything tuned by the DVDR will be 480 SD, not HD.

Sorry,

The reception without this unit hooked up is crystal clear. Cable hooked up to the back of the TV only, nothing else hooked up. Once i hooked up the panny DVD recorder, ( cable from wall to the Panny, then HDMI to the TV, the reception had gotten worst. The Cable from the wall is all new RG6 with good guality crimp on connectors. Do i have something hooked up wrong? If i turn off the Panny, i don't get anything but, no signal.

My setup: TV set is on channel 3, Panny is set to channel 3, cable from wall to the Panny's tuner ( back of the Panny ) to the RF in, then HDMI from Panny to my Television set.

Now I think I understand. This is how I would hook it up.
Cable from wall to DVDR RF in
Cable from DVDR RF out to TV RF in.
HDMI cable from DVDR to TV HDMI in.

In the setup of the DVDR select None for the channel output. That is not CH3 or CH4.

To watch regular TV just tune with your TV as before.
To watch DVD's, or setup/program etc. your DVDR select HDMI in on your TV.

You never really want to watch TV through your DVDR's built in tuner. Even if you are watching a HD channel, it will start out HD, then be downconverted to SD(in the DVDR's tuner) then it would be upconverted through the HDMI out. The problem with this is, the 480 downconversion. You will be much better watching TV using the TV's true HD tuner.
When you watch DVD's you will get the benefit of the Upconversion, not really watching TV.
Does this make sense?
