Basically I have a matrix switch from monoprice, which works great, the only problem is it is feeding an AVR/Projector, and the other output feeds a samsung lnt2653h tv/monitor with 2 channel sound. The only flaw which monoprice has not fixed is 2 channel sound detection when using the tv and new detection when Im using my receiver.

So basically to stop the entire headaches im just going to run seperate analog cables to an analog switch to the tv to handle all audio for the tv so it will stop messing with the hdmi audio over the switch.

However my concern and question is, do I have to switch settings inside the ps3 whenever I want to use the rca red and white or the hdmi? I dont need them to output sound at the same time, but when I use the tv will the ps3 detect and send it over the analogs? And vice versa when im using hdmi?

Sorry Im out of town for a few weeks or I would try this myself.

As far as I know - no. As it stands now - I have to switch between HDMI and Optical in my sound settings depending on how I want to listen.

I know there's been lots of interest in it outputting audio over all channels at the same time - I hope they address that in a future firmware update.
