View Full Version : Would a 4:3 100" screen be the way to go to prevent uneven wear? Using masking? reio-ta 01-19-08, 08:15 PM . nashou66 01-20-08, 06:22 PM One way to reduce uneven wear is to set up a "warm up" recall in 4:3 mode on one of the memories/recalls your marquee, if thats what you choose to get. Run it for about 10 minutes at high levels and it will keep your phosphor all even. I got this tip from reading it on one of Alan Gougers posts. Athanasios MikeEby 01-20-08, 08:02 PM Yikes...a log book for your projector?.... I am sorry but that is too anal. :) Moving a CRT just slightly will upset the setup. I really think you would spend more time setting convergence and geometry then you would be watching. Buy a spare green tube and replace after you see enough wear to warrant the change. Mike nashou66 01-20-08, 09:42 PM I have had my marquee for over a year now and recently took the tubes off to do the Belly fan mod and add hd 144 lenses and the tube show no sighn of 2.35 wear , its what i mosltly watch. Dont worry so much about tube wear, by doing the warm up mnethod i mentioned above all will be well. Athanasios |
