Hi need some help. :(

Basically what I am trying to do is run my Playstation 3 over component to my front projector HD70 but the HD70 is not detecting to PS3.


So downstairs I have a Olivia 32" LCD.
I decided to take the PS3 and component cable to the Olivia 32" lcd. I hooked it up to it (PS3 over component) and it detected and showed picture. :)


So I just confirm that the component cable I got does work but only on my 32" LCD but for some odd reason not on my projector (HD70).

So what can be wrong?

I can confirm that my projector is detecting my phillips dvd player over component. I even ran the PS3 component cable direct to my PJ and it's a no go.

Any help?

Almost 4-got, I did the hold power button for 3-10 seconds till it beeps and still no go on picture signal to my HD70 :(

I am not sure why this is happening, but make sure that the HD70 is on input lock, so it is not searching for active ports. Then try holding down the power button on the PS3. You should get something. If the screen is still black, hit the component video button on the HD70 again to sync. Any reason you are not using HDMI? The HD70, will accept a 1080P/24hz signal, that looks amazing.

Thanks, I'll look into the input is on lock (i'll check the manual to see how that is done).

This is my buds PS3, he let me borrow it.

As for HDMI, I just ordered all my HDMI cables and switcher from Monoprice today. I plan to get this all installed on Friday.

As for component, its all I have from when I had my H31. It is really weird that the HD70 is not detecting component, that's for sure :(

-But does detect my Phillips dvd player over component. lol

any progress on this? I just bought a hd70 last night and im having the same issue with my Ps3, hdmi works, component doesnt, however my 360 works fine on component. I am using a Component selector which is why I cant hook up HDMI. any ideas?

I recently hooked my PS3 to HD70 using component along with my Zenith 318 being switched by my receiver and am having no problems..I am using the HDMI for my DTV HD DVR...Anybody compare HDMI to Component on there PS3 to HD70 is there a noticable difference..if so i might have to get a HDMI switcher...

Kabuki....What does it do when you swich from HDMI to Component in settings on your PS3

well, for example I will plug in Component from my ps3 start up my projector and it will search for a signal and come back "No Signal" then I will shut my ps3 down and try HDMI and it works everytime

To answer your question, when I switch to component the screen goes blank. then it says no signal

Kabuki... You have to go into settings on your PS3 and tell it to output component...I'm new to this PS3 stuff but from what i figured out you have to go to settings then video and pick which output you are going to use...unless there is a differ way i would like to know...

your right TheJag, I forgot to change the settings back to Component from HDMI in the PS3 menu, I did that and everything works! im psyched cause I can now watch blue-rays. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Ran into a snag, it's strange, while using my PS3 certain games wont even load up. the screen scrambles and the projector searches for a source then says "No Signal" it's strange because the opening screen for both of those games work then it switches to a different screen and it fails. A few games that this happens on

Assassin's Creed
Burnout Paradise

but

all my blu-ray movies and the following ps3 games work
Stranglehold
Ratchet & Clank
Cod4

has anyone had issues like this? I have another PS3 componenet cable in the mail I can try. This is a HD70
