Hi I need some helpo with this. I have a 1600 watt 4 channel Boss amp, and a 1200 watt Sony Xpold sub. Well It does not kick like it should I bought the sub from a friend of mine and his kicked alot louder than mine. So if any of you could give me some suggestions it would be helpful.

You have 1 of 2 problems the amp is only giving out 400 watts a channel with it being a boss amp if you lucky it may make 275 watts per channel and it could be the box you are using because its the box that makes the difference less air space inside the box more power required to push the sub and if the box is ported it will sound much louder as if you had 2 of the same subs.
