My wife ordered the fountain (non combo) on amazon the other day. Well, it arrived today in a non-combo case/label fully sealed and wrapped, but it had a combo disc inside. Has anyone had this happen to them before?
I don't mind combo's (other than defective ones, ie CoM) so I guess we got a deal.

I remember reading (here or DVDTalk) that someone had the same experience when The Fountain was on the amazon 3 for 2 sale. hmm.

I had it happen to me yesterday with Rumor Has It. No mention of it being a combo on the outside, or on Amazon's web site. Of course, the first release was a combo, and it was supposedly re-released as a non-combo. Maybe the studio had some combos left over.

I got the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang non combo with the combo disc inside. The HD DVD side played fine so I don't really care, it was odd though.
I'm really not a fan of combos since I have had one defective combo disc, Knocked Up wouldn't load about half the time and when it did, it would lock up within 5 minutes of playback.

A 2 for 1 and better looking cases without those combo logos, so long as it aint defective id be happy for the mistake.

I bought the non-combo "The Fountain" HD-DVD last week when it was on sale at CC. After reading 5harkology's post I opened my still-sealed case and yep, I also got a combo "The Fountain" HD-DVD inside a case that doesn't have anything about this. So I paid less and got more. Good! :)

Warner has made tons of packaging errors, the biggest being when many of the buyers BluRay version of the Harry Potter boxed sets received HD-DVD versios of some of the HP 1-5 movies in their BluRay boxed sets. This is why hearing that you received a combo version of "The Fountain" in what was supposed to be the non-combo version doesn't surprize me unfortunately.
Warner should replace it with the correct version with np, but you might get it replaced faster if you exchanged it where you bought it.
