I have a friend that can get a DLS-4000R for around the same price as the Cadence sub. He also offered a Niles Pro15SW for $800, which I feel is more than I want to spend, and possibly even overkill for my setup. I'm currious though, if that seems like a good price or not?

My question is how you guys think these two (the cadence and/or the velodyne) would match up. I've been reading up on the forums here for a couple of weeks and have heard most of the arguments to go in other directions (hsu, eD, epik, etc). But for my own reasons I feel like one of these two makes the most sense for me...

I have a big room to fill up (maybe 25x20 with a cieling sloping up from 9 feet to 24) which also opens up into a kitchen and upstairs den area. I know that I'm compromising on the performance needed to truly fill up that kind of space, but I'm trying to stick to a reasonable budget.

So what are the pros/cons of these two units when compared with each other. It seems like the CSX-15 might be a little more capable of dealing with my space needs, but is the Velo a much higher quality unit?

Most of my use is for HT, and I'm currently using an old MTX SW1, so I'm sure anything I do will be a big step up. I am running older Sony speakers (floor standers up front, and small high mounted surrounds and center) with a TX-SR605.

If you really feel like I'm missing the mark, I will appreciate any advice to look into other brands and models.

Thanks in advance for any and all responses!

I would go with the Cadence, it should be able extend a bit deeper then the Velodyne.
