Why doesn't the MOJO HD channel sell its season DVD sets of shows (Wall St. Warriors, Fields of Glory, etc) in BluRay or HD-DVD? It makes no sense to watch them in HD on TV, but they sell them in SD-DVD.

It's bad enough that I have the box set for this show that aired on InHD (MOJOHD's prior incarnation), "Route 66: The Marathon Tour."

It's a nice box, has some extra goodies, but on the box it says "Filmed in High Definition," but the discs are SD-DVD. I only bought it because I love the content so much.

Doesn't make any sense for something that only airs in television in HD, to be only SD-DVD's when you sell these HD programs.

We'll let me see.
Probably because they are in business to make a profit, and since they are an HD only channel (I think at least), and therefore a much smaller audience is able to see their content during broadcast, and since few have HDM players combined with them wanting to make money-suprise, suprise-they release on SD DVD to a huge potential customer base instead of the puny HDM crowd.

Why does Magnolia/HDNet release its movies and shows on SD DVD (and not HD DVD or Blu-Ray)? Err... most HDTV owners don't own HDM. Contrary to what Warner, Bill Hunt and many Blu-Ray.com posters believe, it's not due to the format war. Price, ignorance (how many HDTV's are connected to RF/coax and RCA/composite feeds), belief that SD DVD is good enough. Yeah... done rehashing.

Because 99.99923232% of video players are DVD players.

Heck, why are any movies and TV shows released on DVD? ;)

I really liked HBO's Rome and saw it on HD when it aired. I really wanted to get both seasons, but they never released them on HDM. Btw, I never buy shows on any type of media, but Rome was incredible.

I dont think you guys are reading what he is saying. If the shows are only available in HD on air, alot of people arent gonna be buying the episodes since it'll be worse than what they already saw on TV.

That said, theres also a market for all the people that dont have MojoHD but have heard about its shows. So just having an SD DVD isnt crazy.

We know what Mojo is, and we also understand what sells.;)

Thank you, I don't think people get what I'm saying.

I'll watch Wall St. Warriors on MOJO-HD. It only airs on MOJO, in HD. During commercial breaks, they advertise that shows like this are on DVD. SD-DVD.

It doesn't make sense. It's not like MOJO-HD are trying to get everyone to watch these shows. They air the program in HD, they advertise to buy the show on their HD channel, but yet their season sets are SD-DVD???

I know not all people with HD/HDTV have an HDM player, but of course, only people with HDTV have HDM, and only people with HDTV are watching MOHO-HD.

You would think MOJO-HD would offer its shows in both SD-DVD and an HDM format, at the very least.

This situation is distinct from, say, a network show that somehow is not being offered in an HDM, like Jericho: Season 1. That aired in HD and SD. But we are talking about an HD only channel here in MOJO-HD. It's never seen in SD, except on DVD, which is what doesn't make sense.

I wondered the same thing. I really would like to get Three Sheets on blu-ray.
