I have the Logitech Z-5500 and the KDSR60XBR2.

I'm pretty good with TVs but I don't really know much about audio.

Should I use the optical out audio output from the SXRD to the Z5500 or should I use lets say the HDMI cable on the PS3/X360 and use their optical audio out to the Z5500?

Right now, both are connected using HDMI to the TV and both are connected using their own optical out to the Z5500 (I swap the cable depending on what I'm playing). Would it be easier to just use a single optical cable from the TV audio out to the Z5500?

That would make everything connected to my TV use the Z5500 on the optical input right?

Sorry, it's really a dumb question, but I'm not sure.

Thanks!

I haven't tried it myself, but apparently the optical output from the XBR2 will only output stereo 2.0 unless the source is the antenna, cable, or cablecard. You wouldn't get 5.1 from your PS3 or XBox to the Z5500 if you use the optical out from the XBR2 to the Z5000. So I'd say connect your disc players directly to the Z5500 without going through the display first.
