Hi,

I have the Philips DVDR5350H with built in 160Gb harddrive.
I would like to replace the current one with a new, larger drive. How do I go about doing this(not actually changing over the drive, but getting everything to work with the player)? And how do I copy all of the recordings over to the new one.
Have tried opening the drive it in windows, but it is formatted differently than known windows formats.

Hi,

Try connecting both HDD to a computer, booting off a Ghost (Ghost 8 or lower) floppy, and cloning the old drive. It should make an exact copy. You may want to make sure the new drive has a bigger partion than the old one.
*** Make sure you know whichis the Source and which is the Destination HDD. If you screw up, it would be bad if it doesn't work. If the copy does not work, you still have the original.

I think most DVRs use a Linux based system (TiVo does).
