I was watching "A Mighty Wind" last night on my new VW60 and in this particular scene the colors looked like really bad mpeg compression artifacts.
What could cause this?

Some dvd players can cause a problem maybe try another dvd player if you have one.

Id assume the DVD player or bad VP in the PJ. Id guess the player.
Thanks for the help! You were right, it was the "player". I am using a Dell HTPC with a ATI HD 2600 card. I brought down my office PC which has a very similar HD 2600 card and the problem wasn't there. I updated the driver in the Dell and the problem went away. I had to use the driver from the ATI site, the one from the Dell site didn't solve the problem.

Hum... That still doesn't explain the strange arrow-shaped lines in the first picture.

Those arrows are related to 'native' resolution. ;)

Glad you figured it out.
It is a good reminder of why I don't like OEM computers. The only reason I bought it was for the Cablecard... which I don't use. The Dell may end up in the office and the home made office PC might go down to the living room.
