A website is offering the Phillips DVR3575 for $230 now. Considering all the "bugs" that forums have talked about this machine having, I'm thinking if maybe buying a refurb might not be a bad idea. Perhaps this would give the factory a chance to upgrade the units & eliminate some of the glitches. Any opinions on this, or just take my chances on a new unit? Also,there is only a 90 day warranty w/o purchasing a 2 yr addl for $35. Thanks, Bob

The one I got from Ubid a couple weeks ago has worked as well as the brand-new unit that came from Circuit City a month earlier, and better than the first CC unit I received, which had a non-functioning drive door. I don't suppose that the chances of getting a defective box are any greater with a refurb, and arguably a bit less (assuming the repair shop is thorough and competent).
