Someone please help me! I am having the hardest time trying to connect my PC to my Samsung HLS5688W DLP (I tried to post the link to the manual here, but since I'm still a noob). I am a bit new to setting up a home theater to a DLP (my 32" LCD was a breeze), but I'm not a total newbie to PC's or HDTV's so maybe I'm just missing something.
Anyway, here's my issue. I simply want to run 1080p from my PC into my TV. From what I can tell in the manual I am unable to run 1080p through the VGA (I understand that you are unable to get full 1080p through VGA anyway). Since this is the case, I bought a GeCube X1050 DVI video card for my computer and tried to run it to the HDMI on the TV and got nothing out of it. Is there some type of frequency or compatibility or adapter issue that I'm missing? The card was read by my computer and the drivers installed correctly, so I'm not quite sure where I went wrong.
I thought that DVI-HDMI was relatively easy (i.e. not having to be as picky with the VGA frequencies), but I'm not too sure of what I did wrong. I cannot tell if it is the card I bought, something with the TV, or both. My brother is pretty tech savy and recommended me to you guys since his only real experience is with LCD TV's. So here I am in all of my dumbfounded glory. Any help would be sooooooo greatly appreciated. Thanks!
