I know I can run the VGA for the HD picture but what is everyone using for the digital audio 5.1? There appears to be no optical out?

I believe the VGA cable has an optical out on the plug, similar to the component cable and the HDMI audio dongle.

I have the VGA as well as component cables and can confirm that they have an optical toslink connector on them. In addition, all newly manufatured xbox 360s have HDMI (including the Arcade). You can drive HD over any of these options (HDMI, VGA and component); and yes you can do 1080p over component (assuming that your TV can do it).

I have one of the original xboxs, so no HDMI for me :( but it would be the interconnect option I would choose if I could. As it stands, I use the VGA to drive my second computer monitor (so I can game on one monitor while using the other for anything else) and the component to drive my 1080p DLP TV. In both cases I use the optical link for my audio.

Thanks John-my tv can support any option. I think I will go with the VGA.
