There may be 2 issues going on here, hopping fellow members can help me sort through them. Sony KP46WT500

1. While watching tv the screen will flash very bright green, then go off. The standby light flashes 8 times . turn unit off, then back on and it seems to work for a while, this issue is pretty intermitent.

2. There are red bow shaped lines on the top and bottom of the screen that are particualy noticalbe durring dark scenes but even more obvious when swithing from one source to another.

Not sure if the above are related or seperate issues.

If someone could point me in the right direction it would be most apprectiated and if someone could send me the repair manual for the Sony KP46wt500. 9pluck9@gmail.com

I will try the retrace fix tonight, seems pretty easy.
But, does the TV flashing bright green then going off seem to be related to the retrace issue, or is it a seperate issue.
From what I have gathered 8 blinks indicates something with the D board

Same issue. Underlying cause is the crt is going bad/ shorting. The fix is temporary. The tube will eventually need to be replaced/rebuilt.

What is you take on replacing a bulb, is it worth doing?

Each crt is $200 on andrewselectronics.com Labor is expensive maybe $350..

From there it all depends on your budget and if you like(d) the picture quality of that set...
