Hello guys,

I did some looking on Google concerning my 5.5 year old Toshiba rear projection TV. It was working fine last night (as it has since we bought it), and then today, it doesn't turn on. :confused:

The power button light comes on for a couple seconds, then starts to slowly blink. It will continue to blink ad infinitum. No picture ever comes up. From google, the tv has gone into some sort of "protection" mode because something else has blown up.

I'm a computer tech by trade, so I'm used to working on computers and other electronic stuff, but I know that TV's are a different sort of beast. Is this something I can try to diagnose/fix on my own, or am I beholden to calling a repair shop and paying for a diag that way? This tv has been great for us; it's not the best in the world anymore, but it's certainly been good to us. Would hate to have to try and find a TV in time for the Super Bowl. :(
