Got to circuit city last night to return all 5 HD DVDs I purchased from the "Buy 3, get 2 Free" Offer in December.
Here is the script from the conversation.
<Me> Can I return these movies for a refund if I have the receipt and haven't opened them? The announcement of Warner Brothers made me want my $95 back from the three I purchased.
<Associate> Sure, that's no problem. Hmmmmm....you bought this under a Special Offer didn't you?
<Me> Yes I did, is that a problem? Will I still get my refund?
<Associate> Well, yes, you will, BUT, you won't get any 'ADDITIONAL' money for the two you got Free. You'll just get $0.06.
<Me> I understand, since they were free when I bought the other three, I didn't pay for them
<Associate> True, but they are yours Free, or actually for $0.06, so why don't you keep these two and if you don't want them, sell them at a Pond Shop and make some money on them.
<Me> Ummmmmmmmmmmm.....OOOooooooooooooo Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Got my receipt, whistled while I walked out the door, then RAN to my car and took off before they changed their mind...LOL.
Ok, but here is the deal, and here is how I got them free. I really didn't get them free. After looking at the original receipt, they charged me $0.03 a piece for the two "Free" ones, or $0.06 total. So, when I took them all back, it didn't show up as I got them free....it showed up that I payed $0.06 for them. So, had I given those two back, I would have received a whopping $0.06 back, so I kept them for 6 cents. The two were The Kingdom and The Shooter.
