EA Breaking Faces Across Current Generation
Boxing game coming to Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360.

UK, January 31, 2008 - Electronic Arts has unveiled a new boxing game to hit the big three consoles, with the rather charming moniker of FaceBreaker.

Developed by EA Canada - responsible for the quite splendid Fight Night Round 3 - the game looks to take a more light-hearted approach to the gentlemen's sport, with a cartoon-like approach giving it an air of the Ready 2 Rumbles. As the title suggests, the extra power afforded by the current generation of consoles means players can break each others faces with a real-time deformation feature. Ah, the wonders of modern technology.

The game is penned for the Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, though no firm release date has yet been announced.

I thought the recently shut down EA Chicago was responsible for Fight Night 3?

Regardless, I'm a huge boxing fan, so I would much rather see real fighters in a more sim type game rather than one that is more arcadey.

If it plays like Ready 2 Rumble used to then I will buy it. Fight Night is a lot of fun but the career mode just keeps getting worse. Not to mention all the in-game advertisements, what if I don't want to be the Under Armour, Dodge Caliber, Burger King champion?
