Hello All,

I have this TV (sorry I don't have enough posts to post a URL):

http://support.jvc.com/consumer/product.jsp?modelId=MODL020660&pathId=73&page=1&archive=true

27" JVC D-Series, AV-27D201

http://resources.jvc.com/images/front/av-27d201_front.jpg

We just bought a Samsung 40" HDTV and we are planning to upgrade or cable connection to HD. From what I have read we need a HD Receiver in order to watch HD on the JVC TV in the link above, right?

Such as:

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-DTBH260F-HDTV-Terrestrial-Receiver/dp/B000JV6TQY******sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1201833412&sr=1-1

Is there anything cheaper I should consider. The JVC is in our guest room so I do not need anything that high end.

Thanks, Bill

Bad amazon link there. If that TV is SD in the picture, just hook it directly to your cable, if you want any of your cable company's digital channels you'll need to rent an STB from them. You can't watch HD on it, it's not capable of displaying HD resolutions. You can hook an HD STB up to it have the STB output at SD resolutions though.
