Maybe your last chance for full BC and EE.

Backwards Compatibility and Emotion Engine

The emotion engine is the same chip that the PS2 used (i think). So it gives the 60 Gb PS3 around 99% Backward compatibility, compared to the software emulation of the 80 gb which is around 80% (??).

Software emulation on the 80gb is around 90% right now. Just for those who don't know the 20gb and 60gb have the EE and the PS2's GPU whereas the 80gb has only the GPU and uses software emulation to make up for not having the EE. The 40gb has neither the GPU or the EE so unless Sony starts doing total software emulation of PS2 games like the 360 does for XBox games it will never be BC. Thankfully for the 40gb owners it's rumored Sony is working on just that.

FYI, geeks.com often sells scratch and dent too.
