ok well i have terk hdtva hooked up to my sharp 37gp1u and it seems like i can get every analog channel under the sun but i do not get any digital channels. this is the third antenna i have tried i first tried two Phillips from walmart 45db and the 50db i got 4 digital and a few analog channels with the 45db one but i didn't get any digital and very few analog channels with the 50db phillips.

I live in Pittsburg Kansas 66762 and it wont let me post a link to my channels

I have come up with many things that could be causing these problems since i am in the dorms my window is facing the south and the building next to me has the transmitters for the university radio show. My plans were to watch the super bowl but now those are kind of out of the window. The worst part to me is that it worked once (kinda) but now i don't even get a hint of a digital channel. Any help would be much appreciated.

It sounds like the TV isn't scanning the digital channels. Make sure to double check that you are scanning AIR digital channels. Once that is done, you could select 7.1, 12.1, etc.

However, looking at your channel list, it doesn't appear that the local FOX affiliate, KFJX, has a digital companion channel.

Yes, double check that you are doing a digital channel scan. Going back and buying over priced small antennas with ever stronger built-in amps is not the best approach if you get some analog stations but not the digital ones. If your windows are facing south, place the HDTVa in the window and aim it around 150 to 160 degrees to the SE. KOAM-DT CBS 7 is digitally broadcasting on VHF 13, so extend the rabbit ears part way for it.

However, your local Fox station, KFJX 14, does NOT have a digital channel, so no way to get the Superbowl in HD from it. Sorry. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KFJX.

KOKI/FOX (23/22-DT) in Tulsa is about 105 miles from your ZIP code. At that distance, getting UHF reception will rely on tropospheric enhancement.

FOX seems to have more stations than the big three networks that missed the boat on a companion digital channel. I wonder if any of these stations will be allowed to flash-cut early.

You got KOKI-DT Fox 23 on UHF 22 last night? According to tvfool, as Falcon_77 pointed out, that station is 105 miles from the center of your zip code. Impressive. What was the weather? Clear skies, high pressure system? KOKI-DT is operating at 1000 kW at 400 meters height above average terrain, so it punching a strong signal for UHF 22.

If you get KOKI-DT more than 1 night or get some signal hits on the signal meter for it at night and are interested in taking a shot at getting the station, maybe a Channel Master 4221 4 Bay or the CM 4228 8 Bay combined with a pre-amp if you have the room might work. It would be a gamble through and cost some money.

Or just wait a year for KFJX to start up a digital channel, which interestingly will be on VHF 13. Looks like KFJX-DT will be taking over the KOAM-DT current transmitter after KOAM-DT moves to their current analog channel 7.

Being on the 4th floor probably helped. It's also common for stations on the fringe to come in at night but not during the day. At night you often get an atmospheric temperature inversion which tends to bend radio and TV signals back towards the earth and over the horizon.

That would explain my regular reception of 3 stations over 100 miles distant as I don't have a line of sight.
