Are they discontinued? ultracat 02-03-08, 06:28 PM I've heard the rumour of the new sku was false. Have you checked online retailers for the elite? dogmanky 02-03-08, 08:20 PM interesting... perhaps a Blu Ray version coming soon? :) assasyn 02-03-08, 08:34 PM Maybe the white Elites are coming out? The black was supposed to be an initial run sku. formulanerd 02-03-08, 08:39 PM Maybe the white Elites are coming out? The black was supposed to be an initial run sku. +1... they always said the charcoal was limited edition, and following that the elite would continue, in white. bohdi 02-03-08, 08:54 PM Same here where I live, NO Elites anywhere, there wasn't any 360 Premium/Pro systems at BB either. There were only 4 Arcades. Gamestop said that they haven't received any Elites since before Christmas. Its harder to find than the Wii. HoodedSoldier 02-03-08, 09:26 PM My store recieved a few premiums last week. We only had 2 left on saturday when i left. We are trying to get rid of the halo editions which we had in bundle with the collectors edition of halo 3 and halo 3 360 controller. It actually helped because we only have a few of those left now. But elites sorry bro nobody knows. Xae 02-03-08, 09:35 PM Maybe by some miracle they're about to launch the Jasper refresh 6 months early =) confidenceman 02-03-08, 09:52 PM There was a recent post on some blogs about the 360 packaging getting a make-over, and MS has recently stated that they have no intention of changing their skus up anytime soon. My guess is it's just a bundle/packaging change. I'm sure the Elites will remain in their "limited edition" run for as long as they continue selling. ogbuehi 02-03-08, 10:14 PM Are we concerned about the color? Because I thought they had started releasing 360's that had the HDMI connection that are white. Or is it the fact that it comes with the 120GB HDD? I would imagine that since they make so much money when they sell the 120GB HDDs separately that there's probably no real rush to make another batch of Elites. Did the Halo edition come with a 120GB HDD? Since the Elites were gonna be limited and they were black I snatched one up right away. I'm glad I did. My Elite runs much quiter as I've done a side by side comparison. thegreatjuan 02-03-08, 11:09 PM I've been trying to find an answer to that very question. The only reference I have found is here - http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/01/microsoft-says-360-elite-is-just-so-hot-right-now-no-sku-change Will continue to wait on an Elite sighting.... JudgeSmails 02-03-08, 11:39 PM My local BB (Kennesaw, GA) had 4-5 Elites in stock today. Caswell 02-04-08, 09:20 AM There was a recent post on some blogs about the 360 packaging getting a make-over, and MS has recently stated that they have no intention of changing their skus up anytime soon. My guess is it's just a bundle/packaging change. FWIW, the packaging on my 360 was updated - the "Go Pro" was printed on, and the back panel has newer releases like Halo 3 and Rock Band featured. So the thinking is that the Elite is going through the same packaging refresh? Daekwan 02-04-08, 01:15 PM Somebody posted an article that said MS underestimated demand for the Elite. With the elite priced the MORE than the PS3.. while offering far less capability.. you would it would the least selling 360. From that perspective you could easily see why demand was underestimated. That said an increase in production was noted and it should be back in stores soon. I'm an Elite owner myself.. and at the time (9 months ago) it was worth the extra bucks for HDMI, redesigned motherboard, black paint and extra 100 gigs of storage. With the premium now $349, new board/processor, and HDMI.. I wonder why the Elite is still so popular. fjtorres 02-04-08, 03:04 PM With the premium now $349, new board/processor, and HDMI.. I wonder why the Elite is still so popular. - Black case. - 120 GB HDD. - Bundled audio dongle. Apparently, a *lot* of folks like to hook up their 360s to the display via HDMI and send the audio out via optical. Under those conditions, the Pro comes in at $399 and a $50 premium for the extra 100Gb drive space seems worth it. ratbones 02-04-08, 03:27 PM $350 pro w/hdmi $50 audio dongle $180 120gb hdd hdmi cable??? Elite seems to have the upper hand. Broccoli 02-04-08, 03:54 PM I wouldn't be surprised if MS is announcing something new at the Game Developers Conference later this month. All the stores are pretty dry on 360s in my area as well so it's very possible. |
