View Full Version : ? About Best Buy Ext. Warranty Policy when returning a 360

Has anyone had to use their BB extended service warranty on their 360? I ask because I know someone that has twice, (he has 3 360's). Both times he had to argue with management (QUITE EXTENSIVELY) to keep his orginal hard drives and swap them with the new ones that were going to come with the new units. I understand why he would request this since personal data, and days, months, or maybe years of game saves were on his hard drive.

I'm just curious if this is a store wide policy, or if this is some local ignorant store manager that doesn't understand the importance of someone's personal 360 hard drive.

No one here can say yes to this since it is not a extended warranty.

It really does matter what bestbuy you go to. The best buy that i work at we allow the customer to keep whatever they want. If you want to keep your controllers you can. We even let people have the free holiday games that came in the holiday bundle.

The BB near me lets you keep whatever, just not the main unit. apparently they get destroyed.

It isn't just over the counter exchange. They ship it off and in a week or 2 they say yup it is pooched(3rlod) we will replace.

I NEVER buy extended warranties. However, when my 360 died on its first day home I changed my mind. I have since had to use the warranty twice at my local BB. NO problems either time. I brought in my receipt and broken system and left with a new one each time.

Your simply calling it somthing that it isn't. Just correcting you so people will not get confused reading this. Some do read the threads without responding. Yes I cold have answered you but as many as these questions get asked and plus if you look how you are the 3rd one in less than 3 days to create a thread and call it an extended warranty. Oh, by the way, it is called a 2 year replacement plan which is your only option.

I've purchased the the 2 yr replacement plan and when I got the RROD, I just took it in and they gave me a new one to take home. Oh, and by the way they also let me swap hard drives too. I'd say from the time I got the RROD, I was back home playing online in 30 mins. BB isn't that far from where I am....

It is a replacement plan, they perform no repair services on the box at all.
