Hi all, sorry for the noob question, but how do I get my music from my computer to my PS3. I have ITUNES, and a Nano, I'd love to get all my stuff on the PS3 HD and use it kinda like a music server. Can I do this and how??

You can either copy all of your tunes to a USB drive and transfer them to your PS3 through its USB port, or you could set up a media server on your PC using TVersity or Twonky. I used TVersity and it took awhile to set up, but it works pretty well once running. I can view the tracks on my laptop from the PS3 and select which ones I want to copy. It takes awhile to transfer them, so if you want to transfer your whole library, make sure you carve out some time. Probably the fastest way is to burn all of your tracks to a CD or DVD and copy them to the PS3 through the CD drive.

Here is a link to a thread with several links on streaming media to the PS3:

I use my digital camera's memory stick to transfer music from my computer to the PS3.

I just hooked up my 30gb video ipod into one of the USB ports and downloaded them.

Make sure all of your songs are mp3 or you will not get the album art or the title. If they are not mp3, the songs will have names like AADX, AABV, AADR, etc., you get the point. Songs will still play, you just won't know what or where to find a particular song.

Downloaded 35xx songs in less then 2 hours, it might have been faster than that but I didn't really pay that close attention to the time.

Works awesome as a music server too. You can list them by year, artist, category, all, etc. and it has a shuffle mode also!! Good Luck!

If your music is mp3, and your tags an artwork is correct, just plug in your nano, press triangle, then copy everything. It will be in a few different folders, however on the nano. Just keep looking and copying until you have it all. This is exactly what I did for my "favourite" songs from my 2gb nano - the rest of the few thousand songs on my laptop I stream with WMP 11.
