Is there any way to get a better connection from my mini DV camcorder to my LCD HDTV than the red, white and yellow cables? I have S video, component, and HDMI inputs on my tv. The camera is a Canon zr500. Thanks for your help.

Just to clarify, I have a 3 pin mini out and a 4 pin DV firewire out on the camera. Anyone?

Not sure what you mean by a 3 pin mini out, but if you have a dvd recorder just hook up the firewire to that and use the recorder to view your footage on your TV if you can, without having to actually record anything. AFAIK no one puts firewire on TVs anymore and then again AFAIK it was only Mitsubishi that did that. Is the 3 pin mini out for component video like on the HD Canon cams? Order a breakout cable like the ones that come with the HD cameras.

Otherwise, you may be stuck using the red, white and yellow cables...
