Alright, I've heard about people having blue tooth trouble with their controllers, but I figured it was the same BS as people saying their PS3s were noisy. Well for months I never had a drop out, but now I'm starting to see them. I might go a few sessions without one...but then I might get 2 or 3 in one day. Is this going to get worse and worse? If it gets unbearable will Sony cover it under the warrenty? If the warrenty is up is it fixable? I paid a lot of money for this thing, and this is kind of worrying me...
Thanks a lot for your help.

Common problem with 60s and 20s. Buy a DS3 and it should cease.
Btw it's not impossible to have a noisy PS3, if my room gets too warm the fans really wind up on my 60.

I had the same problem and it seems to be resolved with the new Dualshock3 controllers. I would try contacting Sony to see if they will repair/replace your controller for you.

Devices in your home operate on a frequency, it's possible your controller is sharing a frequency with something else in your home. Try re-synching your controller, or turn off whatever else in your home might be causing the issue.

I'm having similar issues, but only with movie playback (i.e., no controller dropouts during gaming). I'm also having dropout with the remote control during movie play back as well. When connecting the controller to the PS3 using the cable, the system now freezes after pressing the "stop" button (after using the on-screen controller menu after pressing the triangle button). Might this issue go away if I replace the original 60GB hard drive? I understand the whole bluetooth issue (and I have a DS3 on order), but I don't understand why the system would freeze after stopping playback. Thoughts?

So is it the PS3 that's a bad receiver or the controller that is bad? Or is it a combination? If the dual shock 3s work that seems to imply that the controller is bad and not the system. I wonder if I can con sony out of a DS3 when they come out in the US if my system is still under warrenty...

I think it's both, or maybe either. I know that Sony redesigned the antenna in the newer console, which also apparently fixed the issue.
