I have an intermittent audio problem with my Vizio GV42LF and would like to know if any one else has noticed this.
Whenever I have watched the NFL games on Fox in 5.1 Dolby Digital while using the Optical Digital Audio output connected to my 5.1 receiver, the audio cuts out for less than a second. This happens every sixty to eighty seconds. It is very distracting! This problem occurs frequently while viewing PBS programming also. I have noticed it less frequently on the other networks. This happens whether the tv is connected to cable or to the outdoor antenna, which should rule out a poor signal going to the tv. The tech hotline said that the problem may be due to the broadcast station putting out a digital audio signal that occasionally dips too low of a level for the tv to process. If that is the case, then the GV42LF has a serious problem. After all, the signal the television stations put out must meet F.C.C. Broadcast standards. Apparently this tv cannot process the wide range of levels for digital audio signals that broadcasters can transmit.
I wonder if other brands have had this problem also! :(
