Anyone heard any news of when this will be released locally seeing we are alos a PAL region same as Europe whoi is getting Play TV in March?

Australia are shceduled to get PlayTV in Q1 2009.

Here in New Zealand, we are supposed to get it before Xmas. An announcement from Sony NZ is due shortly.

Update... development on the PlayTV for other regions, outside Europe has been delayed, due to issues with the unit in France. Solving the French issues has been the focus of the London based PlayTV development team.

I have baan advised by the Marjeting Manager for SCE NZ, that New Zealand can now expect the PlayTV unit to be released in our Winter (June-August).

Although NZ was always supposed to get PlayTV before Australia, as the Australian HD service is closer in type and setup to those in Europe (whereas we use MPEG4 & MPEG5 here in NZ), it wouldn't surprise me if you guys get it first.
