i just got my ps3, and was in the process of updating to 2.10, then my screen went blank, hit buttons on the control but it did not do anything, not sure what to do.

If I recall - you do a hard reset with the power button on the back and cross your fingers. But get the confirmation from Sony first. You should always call them first before posting on issues like this. Let us know how it comes out though.

A buddy of mine just had his PS3 die while installing that very same update. I'm sure it's a coincidence, but ah.. I mean, I'm sure your PS3 is just fine :o

Mine froze once during an update (right after I installed a new harddrive) and was totally unresponsive. I just shut it off (switch in back) and turned it back on and everythibng was fine.

well i probably should of called sony but didnt even think of doing that, i ended up doing a hard restart with the button in that back, and when it came back on, it prompted me to install the update, did that, worked fine, its still alive lol, now i just have to learn the damn thing, figure out the best settings, jesus at first glance this thing seems a lot more complicated that my xbox 360 lol
