Anyone ever seen or done something like this? Im unable to put it infront of the couch or on the ceiling so I was thinking of building a floor riser and putting it inside then the couch on top. Good idea ? Bad idea?

Assuming ventilation is dealt with, i dont see a problem. Bob & Rons WW Stereo has one of their rooms with a PJ set up about a foot off the ground between two seats in the first row.

Can't see it being much different than mounting in a sofit. I was really looking into this route also but moving to 2.35 would not leave enough throw for a lens.

I would have a floorboard under the couch to rest your legs.

It looks kinda funny and pretty high at the moment so I dunno if im going to do this after all.

Dust from the carpet will get on lenses fairly often as well.
