Just got a new PC (largely to handle video editing for my HG10) w/ Vista Home Premium. I want to install only the Corel GuideMenu program, not Ulead or WinDVD. If I run the main setup.exe it tries to install all three and doesn't seem to give you the option to only install one. So I went directly into the GuideMenu folder on the DVD and there is a setup.exe file in there as well. I ran it and it seemed to install GuideMenu (only) ok (there were a couple of errors at the end of the install - some registry entries it couldn't create or find) but it never gave me the option of going through the activation process like the native setup.exe (for all 3 programs) does. So when I rebooted my computer and it tries to autostart GuideMenu it gives me an error message saying I need to run setup to activate it. Tried re-running the GuideMenu only setup but never got the option to activate. I don't want to install all 3 programs and then uninstall the 2 I don't want - it's a brand new PC and I want to keep it as clean as possible.
Any ideas on how to install and activate GuideMenu only?
And once I get GuideMenu working, is there any way to prevent it from starting up automatically and placing the icon in the tray area? I am not planning to use it that often and don't like programs running in the background.
TIA
Eric
