I bought an LC32D62U. I live in zip code 70071. Can i receive all my cable company's(Cox) digital channels without a box? I did the ez setup. It found over 100 digital channels. Most have nothing. Others have picture without sound and some are perfect.
Many digital cable channels are encrypted and so you would need a cable card if you don't want a set-top box. Does your TV have a cable card slot?

It would say in the manual, and it should be pretty clearly labeled on the back of the unit if it has a CableCARD slot.
If this is a relatively recent purchase then chances are that it doesn't have the CC slot. Just look at the TV and see if there is a slot to put in a CC about the size of a PCMCIA card.
If the TV has a QAM receiver you should be able to at least get you local broadcast channels off cable since they are probably not encrypted.
