I am an owner of Gretagmacbeth i1 colorimeter and i have downloaded the HCFR V2.0 to calibrate my Toshiba regza 37X3030 and the Panny PT-AE700 front projector. I also have the PS3 as player (both SD and HD).
From what i read in this forum i am confused about the calibration disk that i sould use as a pattern generator from the PS3.
It seems to me that nothing is compatible with PS3.
Which file should i download and what sould i do next to have a dvd(or a Blu ray file) to put it in the PS3 and then run the HCFR to take measurments?
I have downloaded the AVS HD 709 but the PS3 doesen't recognise it.
Please help me and if possible give me detailed info because i'm new to the calibration!!!
SORRY for my pour english, i am writting from Greece and the AV terminology is quite dificult for me.

- I would have expected the AVCHD to work on a PS3 if the firmware is current. I don't have any guesses why it woudn't unless there are different firmwares for different countries.
- There is also a free DVD here http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=852536

Make sure your firmware on the PS3 is current, and make sure that you are burning the ISO as an image instead of just burning the ISO as data to a disc. What burning program are you using?
I use Nero 6 and as much as i can see i have the latest firmware on the PS3.
When i check the "system upgrade" at the main menu the ps3 gives me a messege that i have the latest version .

Nero 6 is two versions old and some people were having problems with Nero 7. I know I had a hard time finding the "burn image" item in Nero in the first place. I would suggest you might want to try imgburn or some other freeware program. There are a number of programs listed in http://iso.snoekonline.com/iso.htm
I tried "isoburn" but still the same.
I can't also understand WHY when ever i try to burn with nero the AVS 709 i am asked by nero to put in the drive a cdr or cdrw and it doesn't accept a dvd-r.
It gives me a message that it is wrong compilation.

I use AVCHD and it plays perfectly on my ps3, so you might try to reburn or check your firmware.

The iso was created with Nero 8. It was recently reported that some versions of Nero 7 wanted to burn the image to CD, so it seems reasonable that Nero 6 would also have issues. Based on that I might use Imgburn to create the AVCHD iso for the next release. It would be possible to use the Nero 8 trial to burn the disk, but I understand if you're like most people and don't run OS image backups that you might not necessarily want to install the newer software. Personally I was fine burning with Imgburn, but some people reported having better luck with DVD decryptor which makes even less sense to me than Nero 6 not working.
OK !!! i did it with Nero 8 !!!
Thank you all very much!
I am going to start calibrating this evening!!!!
