Hi guys--I was hoping to get some advice on some of my programming options
I have a sony A2000 with RCN cable in Lehigh Valley PA.
I also have a MOTO 6416 DVR.
From what I understand..RCN does not compress its picture at all and it looks fantastic. Better than the blu ray from my PS3 (on level with the reference titles for blu ray) However there are some issues:
1)No way to expand my 20 hour DVR.
2)Only about 15 HD channels...8 of them are useless.
i was looking into a few options and would like some opinions.
1) I was looking at buying Tivo HD and keeping RCN...I know they will expand at some time but I am not sold on the tivo itself and I dont know if my picture will get better or worse wiht the tivo.
2) Get DirecTV with directvTivo..
I heard DirecTV is decent with the new mpeg4 channels but some of the big channels I watch are still mpeg2--(hbo and espn) plus I just dont know if their tivo is any good and would hate to be stuck with everything and locked in for a year. Even with the mpeg4--could it be better than pure uncompressed HD from my cable company ?
3) Dish TV wiht their indutry leading tivo...Not sure how dish is compared to Directv but it looks like they have the best DVR option.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
