So, I was wondering... Does anyone here know of any decent TV viewing software that works with a capture card and provides both excellent upscaling and video deinterlacing? (Better than generic bob or even single field stuff.. Preferrably motion compensation...!)

Nevermind!!!

I tried DScaler again for the first time in some time... it's working a lot better than I remember it... also the display looks quite good with MoComp2, colors calibrated, and the sharpness filter turned on.

If anyone has any other tips for getting DScaler looking the best when deinterlacing video, let me know!

Right now it's more than acceptable.

I was really only initially interested in a scaler just for properly deinterlacing my Playstation 2 games for upscale... my Samsung DLP's deinterlacer pretty much sucks at it (very blurry when movement happens)

I was considering, and have been for a long time, getting a VP20 + ABT102 card... the only thing I'd have used it for would be the Playstation 2, though.

Although I'd have connected the PS2 through component on the VP20, using DScaler and the s-video connection still looks better than the DLP by itself with component ... Much less motion blur during fast motion and a sharper image overall... (unless the game supports 480p... which only a handful of PS2 games do...)

So in short.. Playstation 2 connected to a Leadtek Winfast TV2000XP running DScaler set to output to my TV through a GeForce 7950GT video card and a DVI->HDMI cable is a lot better at 480i than Playstation 2 directly connected through component to the TV. Go figure.

Cool. I haven't used DScaler for a long time. Heck i have one of those immersive input cards (Holo3dgraph) somewhere in a box. I probably can't get drivers for that one anymore. :(
