Hey guys - I'm offering the first of many Free Music Fridays on Computer Audiophile. These are free (as in beer) high resolution downloads.

Stupid shop requires Windows XP to buy.... even to buy for $0.00
:-(
Update: Doesn't support FireFox on Windows XP either. (even with SP2 installed as they ask for)
I guess the customer base is shrinking....
Update2: Tried with Internet Explorer on Windows XP SP2. The actual buy process went a bit further but no success.
There is also no way to download already downloaded content again. Which would be good when the download fails.

Summary: worst site ever!
:(
(Even the contact form sucked!)

Goodbye MusicGiants/ComputerAudiophile, hello ITrax (http://www.itrax.com)!

I know and respect Chris over at the Computer Audiophile but have to point out that the so-called "HD Music Downloads" that are offered on MusicGiants are merely standard definition "CD quality". They are better than MP3s and standard iTunes tracks but they are not HD...unless HD means "higher definition".

I'm glad that iTrax.com is working for so many users. We're getting more new REAL HD tracks up all the time.

Thanks

I agree 100% with you about the quality of MusicGiants "HD" downloads. This is strictly a marketing term in my opinion and is thrown around very loosely on many music download sites. I think the audio world will have to use specifics such as 24/96 or 24/176.4 when describing downloads because of the lack of standards in this area.

The audio world is not the only area suffering from this. Many people are blissfully ignorant at the moment. They don't realize their HD video and Bluray video is so highly compressed that it's far from the HD & Bluray quality advertised.
