D Bear5k 02-08-08, 09:13 AM It's not advised. You would need to be able to do everything inside its recalibration window, since a slight shift in angle would make any readings non-comparable. You also would not get good absolute values, merely relative values, from it. Bill dazzerxxx 02-08-08, 09:49 AM It's not advised. What is generally better ? Also how close to the screen should the probe be placed ? I've read different things i.e. 2-3 feet pointing directly at the screen (shadow makes no difference) or 3-6 inch from the screen angled at 45 degrees to avoid shadow. Any advice ? DMy advice is to get it as close to the screen while avoiding its shadow and also avoiding too large of an angle to the screen. I find it best about 12" from the screen and an angle of somewhat less than 45 degrees to the screen. JimmyR 02-08-08, 06:29 PM I try to place the probe (any) for screen readings about 12" from the screen and then adjust the tilt angle and left, right position for maximum luminance (Y). This seems to work pretty well for me and I get reasonable repeatability. dazzerxxx 02-09-08, 08:32 AM Thanks guys. D |
