My TV room shares a wall with our laundry room. The wall I am mounting my LCD is the shared wall. On the other side of the wall, we have cabinets which are empty.

I have these speakers and want the same setup as this link: http://www.dls.se/econtent/img/72_feature2_img.jpg

Since in the picture there is no DVD Player + AVR + Satellite receiver, I was thinking of cutting a hole in the wall below the center channel and flush-mount a hinged sheet of glass. Behind the sheet of glass (partially in the wall and partially in the cabinet in the laundry room) there will house the DVD Player + AVR + Satellite receiver.

I am also trying to do this with my sub. The size of the sub is 13.8" x 13.1" x 17.3" and is quite big, so I was thinking of doing the same and installing the vented-sub (partially in the wall and partially in the cabinet in the laundry room) behind a painted grill.

Will this work well without sacrificing performance? I know I will have to make sure that there is ample ventilation for the DVD Player + AVR + Satellite receiver, but I am concerned about the sub setup. Does the sub's vented enclosure need to be "in" the room or can I get away with this quasi infinite baffle setup?

Thanks in advance

If you're willing to walk to the laundry room to put in a DVD, make all the gear entirely hidden (no glass door, nothing) and use an infrared repeater system. Place a target in your room and the repeater in the equipment stack.

Gives you a very clean look in the room, is easier (and probably no more expensive than the glass door, etc) and has no distracting lights in the room.

For the sub, depends on the design of the sub. Send more details, or better, take the question to the dedicated speaker forums on AVS. Those guys know their speakers...

I'm going to try the glass door idea for my stack. Allows me to access from my TV room.

That design would have nothing to do with infinite baffle. If anything, you'd be wasting some output in the adjacent space if it's not sealed properly.

Here's how I installed the sub woofer in my Theater. It works great. The enclosure is sealed so no air is entering the closet.
