A copy of my correspondence to Napster...
Attention: Chris Gorog, Napster CEO
We signed up for a free Napster trial on 19-Dec-07 and cancelled during the the trial by using the "Cancel Free Trial" link as directed.
Nonetheless, you have charged our credit card for $9.95 on 27-Dec-07 and again a month later in January.
We have spoken to your customer service people who initially agreed to remove the January charge but would do nothing about the December charge.
When I suggested that I would get Mastercard to reverse the charges, I was then told Napster would do nothing for me.
This is an unacceptable con!
I am extremely disappointed in Napster. I have recommended it to several people since my trial and now regret that very much.
I will be filing complaints with Mastercard and appropriate consumer agencies as well as posting my situation to all online discussion groups.
I am very sorry that Napster has chosen to take such a scummy approach in its business practices.
