Hi,

I just received my new Pioneer 5080, and I have a few questions because of that. I have a Harman Kardon AVR645 receiver which has a few HDMI in and out. At this time, I connected a DVD player and a cable box to the receiver (both using HDMI inputs) and then the receiver to the TV (HDMI output). I believe that I will not be able to uses PIP feature now. In addition, my DVD - Harman Kardon DVD47 is able to upscale (?) a signal from 480p to 720p.

Based on that, should leave the connections like that? Should I use the separate TV's HDMI inputs instead?

Many thanks,
Witold

BTW, I am blown away by the quality of this Pioneer...:)

Jabol, I have a similar setup to you (cable stb and dvd into Pio VSX-94TXH via HDMI, then HDMI out to PRO-150FD) and I can use my cable provider's PIP but not Pio's version of it (well, i can split the screen but doesn't do me a lot of good considering I only have one input taken on the tv). For now, might just have to use your cable provider's PIP function.
Concerning using your tv's HDMI inputs, if you do that then you bypass your surround sound, of which I am assuming you are taking advantage of thru the H/K. So this is possible but then all of your sound will be coming out of your tv speakers, not whatever is being fed from the H/K.
Hope this helps....
