Hi,
Ive searched and read the forums for a week now and just cant seem to find an answer for my model..
I have the mini running to my Denon AV using DVI to HDMI cable and the denon outputs to my plasma via HDMI.
According to the specs of my plasma its:
- native resolution is 852 x 1024 (there is no option for this on the mini display settings)
- Under recommended signal list it suggests the following for the HDMI input connection:
- 576i - 720 x 576 @ 50Hz
- 480i - 720 x 480 @ 59.94Hz
- 576p - 720 x 576 @ 50Hz
- 480p - 720 x 480 @ 59.94Hz
- 1080i/50 - 1920 x 1080 @ 50Hz
- 1080i/60 - 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz
- 720p/60 - 1280 x 720 @ 60Hz
On the mini I have options as follows:
- 640 x 480
- 640 x 480 (stretched)
- 720 x 480
- 720 x 576
- 800 x 600
- 1024 x 576
- 1280 x 720
- 1920 x 1080 (interlaced)
Questions are:
- What should I be selecting in the mini display settings (currently using 1280 x 720 as its most readable)
- Should I worry that it says refresh rate 60Hz NTSC when Im in Aus and we usel PAL which i thought was max refresh rate of 50Hz? - i cant select pal/50 Hz by the way without going for a lower resolution
- Interlaced setting is very flickery so ive not opted for that - why is it flickery?
- is the objective to have overscan on or off?
- last question do i need to use switch res x or the other software (cant remember name) to get the picture to expand out to the full avaiable space on the plasma?
thansk in advance.. im really keen to watch dvd's etc but not when theres a whole inch and a half of wasted space right around the plasma and im not sure what res will deliver the best playback?
Cheers
