Hi, I have a new Panny 700U and Onkyo 908 system.

I have baby on the way in less than a month and need room so I decided to get rid of my entire computer desk since I hardly use it anymore. I want to hook the computer up to the TV.

Whats the best setup or cables that I need? I was told VGA M/M but then I see SVGA and XVGA. And what about the sound?

You should try to use a digital connection to transmit the PC's signal (DVI, HDMI) instead of the analog VGA.

If your PC doesn't suck it probably has a DVI port, so get a DVI=>HDMI cable then :-)

Regarding VGA cables, there is just one type, there are no "SVGA" or "XGA" cables. Those are just historic names for PC resolutions.

Regarding sound, just get the right cable for the connectors your PC/Display has. Usually you need an adapter from this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRS_connector) on the PC side to that (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCA_jack) on the Panasonic side.

Are you going to make the 700u your main computer monitor? That's probably not a very good idea.
