Pioneer pro1540hd network capable
Pioneer vsx-94txh receiver
hd-dvd -A1
samsung bluray bdp1400
2 sony vaio vgp-xl1b 200 disc changers firewire only outs
Laptop and desktop both running xp w/mce

This is my situation and have 2 options I am considering but looking for the best solution:

I have a large collection of dvd's 300 or more. I want to be able to:

store collection on hard drive or incorporate the sony changers into my system
be able to see cover art or title of movie (not just vts .01) and such, changers do this w/mce
stream to tv
which media server, if required.(twonky, tversity, or others?)

or possibly integrating the changers into my system
as this would give me the cover art I am looking for and saving a lot of time not having to backup my collection. I am concerned with video quality and not wanting to have pc tower in family room or those huge changers for that matter. Room will not allow for that. Is it possible to stream from the changers connected to a pc in another room to the tv?
The Tv does have a PC INPUT terminal (ANALOG RGB).

Supported file formats for TV
The table below shows supported file formats that can be
played back or displayed on the Plasma Display. These formats
are applicable to both network and USB sources. However,
media server content protected by digital rights management,
such as WMDRM10 (Digital Rights Management for Windows
Media 10), may not play on the Plasma Display.

Type of files Format
Movie MPEG PS (mpg, mpeg, mpe, m2p), MPEG-2 TS/TTS,
WMV (asf, wmv), MPEG4 (mp4)

Music MP3 (mp3), LPCM, WAV (wav), WMA (asf, wma)

Photo JPEG (jpg, jpeg), BMP (bmp), PNG (png), TIFF (tif, tiff),
GIF (gif)

I know I have asked many questions, but any advice would be appreciated.
Ultimately though I would like to stream this collection to my TV. Is this
possible without costing a fortune....

Have you considered XBox Media Center? Plays most any format, with the exception of HD material (not enough horsepower). I have all my DVDs and music ripped to a single computer, that functions as my media server and use XBMC connected to my plasma to assess my media. I absolutely love it. Great interface. Very fast response times. And, fully customizable. Check the XBMC thread for more details.

I have done some reading about XBMC and do have one laying around.
Just not to sure if I can do the mod myself. I will check out the XBMC forums to see what is involved.

With this type of setup can you access external devices connected to a pc, such as my sony disc changers?

Not sure about the disc changers, but if you ask the questions in the XBMC thread I'm sure you will get all the answers you need. They are quite helpful and patient with those of us who are noobies to XBMC. I've only softmodded 1 XBox myself. I have a second one sitting around that will get modded too. The guys on the XBMC thread helped my set my first one up. Good luck.
